Stop guessing about Philippine AI usage based on global hype. The Philippine AI Report team analyzed 175 local organizations to find the ground truth for our market, and in April we brought that data to the GOAB Beach Club in a two-part deep dive.
Part 1: tech startups and talent
Tim Santos, founder and project lead of the Philippine AI Report, walked through what the data says about tech startups and talent, with practical insights for Philippine AI builders:
- The hype filter for products: which AI features and products have long-term value, and which risk being "cannibalized" by Big Tech or the next frontier model update.
- The hype filter for talent: which skills hold long-term value for people who want to work in AI startups.
- The strategic window: why the coming year is a unique opportunity for PH startups and AI talent to define their niche and build a competitive edge.
"A Silicon Valley playbook won't just copy-paste to Manila. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot to learn from these playbooks. We're taking the ground truth from 175 Philippine organizations and translating between global best practices and local nuances." (Tim Santos)
